Wine in the Woods 2013

I had a great time this weekend at Wine in the Woods in Columbia, MD! It was my first time actually making it out to this wine festival. It seems like every year something would always come up and I would have to miss it! Even with the threat of rain there were tons of people and a great turn out. There were over 30 wineries, live bands on two stages, vendors, wine education, and gourmet food. I enjoyed walking around and sipping wine from the different wineries. The people were friendly, the music was great and the food was delicious. My husband and I ended up getting another order of Old Bay Wings from The Corner Stable to snack on between sips. Not only were the wings great but the mozzarella sticks and fries from The Corner Stable were delicious too! I found my self wanting to linger at their booth even after we received my food just because of the music they were playing!

Below is a short list of some of my favorites from the festival. Boordy is always one of my favorite Maryland wineries so definitely keep them in mind next time your out shopping for something different!

Riesling (semi-sweet white) Boordy Vineyards Hydes, Maryland

Vidal Blanc (semi-sweet white) Bordeleau Vineyards & Winery  Eden, Maryland

Müller-Thurgau (semi-sweet white) Penn Oaks Winery Silver Spring, Maryland

Traminette (sweet white) Linganore Winecellers Mount Airy, Maryland

Strawberry (sweet fruit Wine) Linganore Winecellers Mount Airy, Maryland

Linganore also hosts some cool festivals. Visit their Facebook page to find out more. The next festival is the Caribbean Festival on May 25th and 26th. For information about other wine festivals and events, click here.

  • I can tell you all had a fabulous time! My husband and I don’t drink wine but we would love an event like this. A picnic and a concert!

    • Yes you would have enjoyed it! They also have non-taster tickets for those who aren’t drinking. Maybe we could all check out one in the future. 😉
